In many ways, Beaned in Boston is a similar work to Yo-Yo’s With Money. Both Yo-Yo’s With Money and Beaned in Boston are audio recordings of the New York School poets Ted Berrigan and Harris Schiff attending baseball games while under the influence of drugs and recording their commentary and conversations. Unlike Yo-Yo’s With Money, a transcription of Beaned in Boston was never published. While there never was a transcription published, the first transcription of the recording exists in the Emory archive. Though incomplete, the transcription offers another peek into the mind of a New York School poet. In my limited time at the Emory Stuart A. Rose Manuscript, Archives and Rare Books Library, I digitized the existing first transcription and transcribed more of the recording, filling in blanks. On this page is the first publicly accessible, though still incomplete, transcription of Beaned in Boston, along with game scorebook, digitized newspaper clippings and a full box score and the statistical recap of the game via baseball-reference.com.
